The album is a visual journey from the origins of Zabłocie through its rich history to the local creative buzz at the beginning of the 21st century. It tells the story of the transformations, revitalization and gentrification of this unique place. This is part of the Stacja Zabłocie project and the author’s personal initiative pursued for twenty years to document the place and its community, with the aim of preserving local heritage and memory.

Jedyne postindustrialne miejsce w Krakowie, tętniące życiem dzień i noc, pełne anegdot i wspomnień osób związanych z Zabłociem. To żywy dowód tego, że ludzie tworzą miejsca. Projekt powstał przez codzienne doświadczanie Zabłocia, przez obserwację i myśl, że to tylko chwilowy przystanek. Autorka prowadziła własne studio fotograficzne na krakowskim Zabłociu, a przy okazji fotografowała lokalne pracownie artystyczne, warsztaty rzemieślnicze i pozostałości po przemysłowym krajobrazie.

The only post-industrial spot in Kraków bustling with life day and night, full of anecdotes and memories from people associated with Zabłocie. This is a living proof that people make places. The project was created through the daily experience of Zabłocie, through observation and reflection that this is just a temporary stop. The author ran her own photography studio in the Zabłocie district of Kraków and, in her spare time, photographed local art studios, craft workshops, and remnants of the industrial landscape.

To 400 stron z fotografiami, historią i wspomnieniami ponad 130 osób, które w latach 2009–2019 tworzyły wyjątkowy klimat Zabłocia i działały w dawnych budynkach Telpodu, Miraculum i Składu Solnego.

Zabłocie stało się soczewką skupiającą procesy społeczne i urbanistyczne zachodzące nie tylko w Krakowie. To uniwersalna opowieść o tożsamości miast i o tym, co ocalamy od zapomnienia, a co bezpowrotnie burzymy. A fotografia niezmiennie jest narzędziem zapisu tych zmian.

A collector's story of Zabłocie.

It is a 400-page book featuring photographs, history and memories from more than 130 people who helped create the unique atmosphere of Zabłocie and were active on the former premises of Telpod, Miraculum and Skład Solny in the years 2009–2019.

Zabłocie has become a focal point for social and urban development processes taking place not only in Kraków. This is a universal story about the identity of cities and about what we save from oblivion and what we irrevocably destroy. And photography remains a tool for documenting these changes.
Na Zabłociu było epicko. To był dom. Często do własnego wracałam z pracowni nad ranem. Pustymi ulicami jechałam rowerem, powtarzając sobie: „Chwilo, trwaj, jesteś piękna”. Uwielbiałam ciszę panującą nocą w Telpodzie, kiedy już wszyscy pracownicy zmianowi poszli do domu. I weekendy. I wschody słońca, i zachody. Czułam tam jakieś połączenie z uniwersum, połączenie, którego ciągle szukam, którego ciągle mi brakuje.
Zabłocie was an epic experience. It was home. I often returned home from the studio early in the morning. I rode my bike down the empty streets, repeating to myself: "Moment, hold on, you are beautiful." I loved the silence of the night at Telpod, after all the shift workers had left for home. And the weekends. Both the sunrises and the sunsets. I felt connected to the universe there – a connection I am still searching for, one that I still feel is missing.

Pierwsza myśl o Zabłociu: orka na ugorze. Czuliśmy się jak pierwsi osadnicy. Kiedy zaczęliśmy działanie na Zabłociu, była to dzielnica, która odstraszała, a nie przyciągała. Przez błoto szliśmy do naszej siedziby, która była stuprocentowym loftem z jego urokami, ale i mankamentami – zimno, odrapane ściany, żadnych wygód, o wszystko trzeba było się postarać, żeby móc tam pracować i zapraszać ludzi.
My first thought about Zabłocie: a plow on a fallow land. We felt like the first settlers. When we first started our activities in Zabłocie, it was a neighborhood that repelled people rather than attracting them. We walked through the mud to our office, which was a true loft with all its charms but also its drawbacks – it was cold, the walls were shabby, and there were no amenities; we had to make every effort to be able to work there and invite people.

Neony stały wysoko w hierarchii nośników reklam szyldów jak na ścianie budynku administracji fabryki Miraculum. Pozwalały sobie na nie wybrane przedsiębiorstwa państwowe. Wzorem lat 20., od połowy lat 50. do końca lat 70. wykorzystywano je również w postaci szyldów jako nośniki reklam.
Neon signs ranked high in the hierarchy of signage advertising media, as on the wall of the Miraculum factory's administration building. Selected state-owned enterprises permitted them. Following the example of the 1920s, from the mid-1950s to the late 1970s, they were also used as signage as advertising media.
